TIPHYS project aims at PhD education on the subjects of Industry 4.0, and it is also useful for factory technicians and managers willing to master new technologies of Industry 4.0.

TIPHYS aims at developing a platform that allows students to customize their learning path through a modular approach. It relies on building blocks defined through a design approach based on Constructive Alignment.

Each basic Intended Learning Outcome will have corresponding Teaching and Learning Activities and Assessment Task and can be seen and used by students as an independent educational unit.

The platform is dynamic, its content evolves and is enriched by the collaborative contribution of the students themselves.

Specific Objectives

  • Increase the cooperation among educational institutions in EU to increase the quality of PhD courses connected with Industry 4.0.
  • Increase the synergic use of up-to-date technologies, such as virtual reality, in an integrated way, with a teamwork approach and personal development.
  • Improve the effectiveness of teaching and learning by the use of Blooms Taxonomy.
  • Increase the opportunity for distance learning.
  • Upgrade and innovate existing didactic tools.




Project Outputs

  • The ontological framework is based on constructive alignment for the representation and composition of educational units. The ontological framework model will define the “constructively aligned” course modules including a single Intended Learning Outcome (ILO) and its related Teaching and Learning Activities (TLA) and Assessment Task (AT).
  • The MOOC content will consist of specific modules to support learning activities including simulation modules and user-interfaces. The modules will be “docked” on the learning platforms with the ontology-based models as integrating elements serving as “one interface”.
  • Co-creation of learning material which will imply the existence of the innovative organizational structure, procedures / protocols, advanced ICT platform, advanced management systems, and underlying system thinking.
  • A virtual model of factory process” a working VR TIPHYS platform to support virtual reality models; a useful set of the first scenarios based on the output of the work package; a variety of training material and wiki to be used for dissemination activities of TIPHYS projects.
  • Development of final tool and additional content co-creation.
